Praktikum von Bastien Marchandise 

During my studies in agronomy and plant production at the agricultural high school of Campus de Pouillé in France, I had the opportunity to do a one-month internship abroad. My desire to open my mind to a new agriculture for the future led me to do my internship in the company Van den Borne aardappelen which in terms of precision agriculture enriched me a lot and allowed to have more knowledge in this field.

During my internship, I was able to carry out manual weeding on onion and parsnip cultivation, made soil samples in different plots as well as measuring soil compaction. Again, I made measurements on the cultivation of potatoes and finally I participated in the installation and start-up of irrigation in plots.

First of all, I would like to thank Jacob in particular for allowing me to do my internship in his company as well as Dieter and Luka for their great sympathy which helped me a lot to include myself in the team as well as answer all my questions. Finally, I would also like to thank the rest of the team for the welcome and support during my internship.

I advise people interested in precision agriculture to visit this farm which is for me the most involved in this vision of agriculture.
