Fertilize autumn

In recent years, through the use of precision agriculture, we have gained more and more insight into the condition of the soil by mapping it with various sensors. We have determined that the soil forms the basis for all our crops and that having a healthy soil and soil life is essential for a good yield with less leaching. We started 2014 with fertilizing with organic matter using compost and stable manure to be calculated in the spring. After several years of experience, we now know that this organic fertilizer is better suited in the autumn because it can provide good green manure and is converted much more effectively by the soil life in the autumn. below you can see the history of our autumn fertilization

2019
In 2019 we also did the compost spreading in the autumn. The compost is optimally distributed by means of task cards that have been made on the basis of the soil scans. the places with high conductivity do not receive compost and the places with low conductivity receive extra compost. In this way we can significantly increase the yield potential of the sand heads

This year, Louis Deenen has again worked with his Tebbe spreader.

2017
In 2017 we worked for the first time with the manure breaker from Louis Deenen. This year he has purchased a new Tebbe 3-axis manure crusher with weighing system and the possibility to break variable manure using task cards. Because we do not want to be dependent on a machine, this year we tried to fertilize this machine variably based on our soil scans.

2015
In 2015, Loonbedrijf Randy Goris also applied the compost to our company. All parcels were measured in advance with our soil sensors and on the basis of this data we determined on which parcels we applied compost and on which variation within the parcel it was applied.
Randy has exchanged his John Deere this season for a New Holland for some extra horsepower and an integrated RTK autoplilot System. He now drives exactly at the correct working width, which benefits the distribution.

2014
In recent years, through the use of precision agriculture, we have gained more and more insight into the condition of the soil by mapping it with various sensors. One of the biggest variables in the soil is the moisture balance. This is highly dependent on the type of soil, but also on the organic matter content. In order to improve this moisture balance, in 2013 we examined together with contractor Randy Goris in Dessel whether there was a manure spreader that could accurately (weighing), and variable (on task card) spread Compost and manure. We then opted for the Bergman 3-axis manure spreader. This machine is equipped with a weighing device and an isobus terminal with GPS antenna for the variable application of compost and manure. In the past 2 years, we have already carried out various tests, each with a positive result by improving water management and thereby also an improved yield.
