One of the parts of the graduation year at the Cah Vilentum is writing a graduation paper, also known as a thesis. I have chosen to write this about some possibilities to irrigate more efficiently in Dutch agriculture. I chose this subject because I did not have enough knowledge about it in my opinion.

After some preliminary research I quickly ended up at van den Borne potatoes. I already knew the company by stories at school and that the company was much involved in working more efficiently. Similarly with efficiency in irrigation. She told me about a different type of irrigation reel that they think had many advantages over a traditional reel. This was about the Fasterholt sprinkler reel. This irrigation reel was still unknown to me and I therefore found it interesting to include this machine in my graduation project. I went to find out whether this irrigation reel had efficiency advantages over the ordinary reel.

At that time, I worked with van den Borne on potatoes and Smits B.V. a practical test done between a traditional and a Fasterholt sprinkler reel. In this test we wanted to see if a difference could be demonstrated in the pressure loss at the machines due to the different exit / roll-up methods. {Dries}
