In our last year of the study, we both took the minor Technique Arable Farming and Full Field Vegetables. Laban has the background of the study Agrotechnics and Management and Jasper has the background Horticulture and Arable Farming. During the minor it was central that Laban focused on plant cultivation and Jasper on technology. Thanks to our cooperation, this could be perfectly combined at Van den Borne potatoes, where technology and plant cultivation play a major role.

During our internship we worked on the assignment about Control Traffic Farming (CTF). CTF is a method that is best known from organic agriculture, where work is done on permanent tramlines, so that the crops can be grown in undeveloped soil. The purpose of this is to ensure that the plant grows better by reducing the resistance of compacted soil and absorbing better nutrients. Due to this better growth, a higher yield can be realized. For our internship, we therefore first gained knowledge from various farms that already work with some form of tramlines. With the knowledge gained from the sector and the wishes of the company, we have jointly drawn up a plan in which we have made CTF applicable for the different crops on the company, but in particular potato cultivation. We would like to thank the Van den Borne family. that we were allowed to carry out this internship at the company. It was an interesting internship and we learned a lot about CTF.
